FIRST-CLASS STATIONERYcombines reason and emotion in a brand positioning that is perfectly aligned with Kite — Ukraine’s leading producer of backpacks and all the school supplies a first-grader needs to carry inside one. In 2021, the company Vivat approached us to develop the design for a line of stationery products. The design needed to attract children aged 7 to 10 (who often no longer consider themselves kids), be gender-neutral, stay relevant for three years, and serve, through several SKUs, as a style guide that the client could later apply to a broader product range. |
“IMAGINATION ON!” —this became both the challenge and the motto of the entire project. First of all, Kite has been on the market for many years. Secondly, it offers multiple stationery collections simultaneously within its product range. So creating something truly new, gender-neutral, and cool — using already well-developed kids’ material — turned out to be definitely a level-up kind of task. We made several attempts and compiled long lists in search of the right idea and moodboards — from characters and imaginary worlds to visual expression styles. Finally, the client settled on a creative concept that later became known as the Kite Fantasу collection. After all, children express vivid imagination — in their games, dreams, and creative activities. We, in turn, brought a great deal of imagination to the table. |
A FLAT, BIONIC, SEMI-ABSTRACT DESIGNcame to life, with faintly familiar characters seemingly concealed in a bright, fantastical world. The project’s unique approach involved creating a long illustrative pattern that merges multiple storylines and can be flexibly adapted to packaging in various formats — from a tiny glue stick to a large pencil box. Just look at our animation — see how the pattern playfully stretches out as if it has no limits! The red background color was chosen as the most eye-catching on the shelf, providing good contrast with the client’s logo. We designed concise, contemporary infographics for a range of products. In total, we delivered packaging for 8 SKUs to the client: two pencil types, scissors, colored paper, modeling clay, a pen holder cup, glue, and a glue box. But we also left endless space for imagination. |
